Play of the Day

Watch the Huskies’ top highlight from the win

The Huskies won by a whopping 43 points and dominated every facet of the game, making it hard to pick just one Play of the Day. Instead, here’s a compilation of all the top plays from their first-round beatdown of the Panthers:

Fine Line

See which UConn player stuffed the stat sheet

There were a few Huskies deserving of this honor, but it’s hard to say another UConn player positively impacted the game more than Paige Bueckers. In 36 minutes of play, she amassed 24 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks while committing just 2 turnovers and 1 foul. Honorable mention goes to Aaliyah Edwards, who racked up a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Quoteworthy

Read the most memorable remark from the game

“Her pull-up reminds me a lot of Sue Bird. Like, when Sue Bird took a pull-up, I thought it was automatic. She never missed and I think the same thing with Paige. It’s just automatic with her.”

- Chris Daily (on Paige Bueckers)

Syracuse’s Tiana Mangakahia on point guard matchup with Bueckers: “To be honest I haven’t watched much film of them ... I haven’t watched much of her. But I just know she can shoot the ball really well, and she looks like a really clutch player.”
