The podcast crew had the pleasure of chatting with Aaron Jones, running back on the Green Bay Packers and cousin of UConn guard Tristen Newton. While Jones has made a career in football, he actually played some hoops for UTEP and clearly follows the game closely.

In a wide-spanning conversation, the Pro Bowler discusses growing up with Newton in El Paso, Texas, his cousin’s decision to return to UConn this year, seeing Bill Murray at games, and impressions of Husky head coach Dan Hurley after watching them make a championship run. He added that Newton has some solid football skills of his own.
Jones also shared that he’s ready to start following UConn football and already follows the women’s basketball team. For the men’s hoops squad, he said he’s excited about what the team can do with Newton alongside Alex Karaban and Donovan Clingan.
